MTN TurboNet is a new internet device launched by MTN Ghana to provide faster and cheaper services for the general public.
It is a more portable alternative to MTN’s fiber broadband service for homes. The device a simple plug and play device made by Huawei for MTN Ghana.
Where Can I Buy MTN TurboNet?
You can buy an MTN TurboNet device at any MTN Service Center or Store for GHS 500.00. You get a device, an MTN 4G sim card, with 5GB free data for six months.
After, you can decide to go with a postpaid plan or prepaid plan. The prepaid plan will require you to buy data as and when you need it.
I use the prepaid plan, which is relatively okay.

How To Use MTN TurboNet and Set It Up
To start using your device, you will be required to register your sim card, which is usually done immediately after you buy your device.
After that, you insert your card into the router. You plug the device into a power source and press the power button to turn it on.
You will identify your device in your wireless connections hub or panel on your mobile or desktop device. You will then have to enter your password to connect to the network.
How To Buy MTN Data Bundles
Since your MTN mobile number is connected to your TurboNet number, it is easy to buy data using MTN Mobile Money.
Here is how to buy your MTN TurboNet data bundles via mobile money:
- Dial *170#
- Select option 3 – Airtimes and Bundles
- Select option 3 again – MTN Broadband
- Enter your MTN TurboNet member
- Select a preferred package or select 5 to enter your preferred amount
- Approve purchase via mobile money prompt
MTN TurboNet Bundles
Bundles bought for MTN TurboNet devices do not expire according to information released by MTN in March 2020.
This announcement also led to an increase in the cost of bundles. The packages offered by MTN for TurboNet users is one of the most affordable for 4G routers in Ghana.

You can check your balance on the device with your connected number using these steps:
- Dial *5057#
- Choose option 3 – Check balance
- Select your TurboNet number from the list
- You will then receive a prompt with balance information on your account.

Conclusion
MTNN TurboNet is a great internet device to have. It gets frustrating when it is your primary source of the internet during power outages. Aside from this, I have mostly enjoyed using my TurboNet router.
